Description

The recovery factor of gas reservoirs is highly dependent on various factors such as the type of drive mechanism, the initial reservoir pressure and the abandonment pressure. A higher attention is required to enhance gas recovery from reservoirs associated with water influx. Exploitation of this type of reservoirs represents a challenge for production operators in the sense that they have to find viable technical and economic solutions in order to increase the gas recovery of reserves. The selection process for the best-fit-for-purpose method or technique it means first the understanding the reservoir characterization, then, the production strategies and field management should aim to achieve the maximum gas recovery factor. This paper intends to present theoretical and practical aspects, related to the exploitation of natural gas reservoirs with water influx, to show the problems associated which affects the production performances of the wells and remedial techniques to improve the recovery factor.
