Accelerating the deep integration of digitalization and industrialization is an important way and inevitable for the energy industry to achieve high-quality development. Big data, artificial intelligence and other technologies are key production factors leading the industrial upgrading. This paper first reviews the connotation and basic characteristics of big data technology, summarizes its characteristics in the industrial field, and summarizes the processing and application process of industrial big data. Secondly, the paper investigates and summarizes the typical application of big data in the upstream, middle, and downstream fields of the petrochemical industry, and explores the future development trend, including oil and gas exploration and drilling, oil and gas transportation, elaboration refining and other aspects.
