Title

[10]P5 Natural Gas Production and Pipeline Delivery in North-East Asian Countries in the Early 21st Century

Description

Source of Natural Gas Supply: There are rich sedimentary basins which are adequate for production of natural gas in North East Asian countries. Russian Far East region and East Siberia: Sakhalin, Sakha (Yakut), Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk Region. In China, there are Sunliao, Shaan- Gan-Ning (Ordos), Tsaidam, Turphan and Tarim. The potentiality of large gas reserve discoveries is high and there are indeed already discovered, but untapped gas fields: such as Koviktinsk gas field in Irkutsk, Yurubchensk oil and gas field in Krasnoyarsk, and the under development Shaan-Gan-Ning gas field in China.Variant pipeline route: for a gas supply to the large consuming areas in the North East Asian countries, several large pipeline routes are planned: from East Siberia and Far East (Yakut), three Routes: from Irkutsk via Mongolia, China (Beijing) to Tianjin Port., from Irkutsk via Manchuli, Daching, Harbin in China to the Russian Port Zarbino, from Yakut to the East Coast port Vanino, then a variant of this route, via North and South Korea and possibly to Japan. Adding to these, Sakhalin gas pipeline down to the south, Hokkaido, Japan, or through Russian Far East to Chinese three provinces of North East, and possibly Korea and Japan. And another plan of Turkmenistan to Chinese East Coast through Chinese Central Asia and mid-area of China, West to East.Geopolitics of Natural Gas: International gas supply and consumption. Supplier and user's shake hand, long-term contract stability, large financial investment guarantee. All of this depend on the maturity of international political affairs.Source of Natural Gas to be Supplied In North-East Asian countries there are large and rich hydrocarbon contained sedimentary basins, in the Russian Far East and East Siberia, in North-East and West of China. These are the main regional gas suppliers. Natural gas will be produced in those areas and transported by large diameter pipelines to other North-East Asian countries such as Korea, Japan and others for their consumption, after those areas indigenous use. Exploration for natural gas and its discovery began relatively early but the development and recovery of gas was far behind compared with other gas producing areas in the world. However, the Russian and Chinese oil and gas state explorers discovered several large gas fields in 1970's and 80's. In Russia, they are Sobinovskoye gas field, Yurubchenskoye-Tokhomoskoye oil and gas field and 18 others in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Koviktinskoye gas field and 9 other gas fields in Irukutsk Oblast, Chayadinskoye gas field, Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas field and 28 other fields in the Republic of Sakha, Odoput-More oil and gas field, Lunskoye gas field and Chaivo gas field in offshore Sakhalin Oblast. In China, they are Shaan-Gan-Ning gas field in Ordo
