Title

The effect of periodic change of external temperature on the temperature field of crude oil

Subject

Waxy crude oil
Cooling rate
Heat dissipation
Periodic external temperature

Description

The purpose of this attempt is mainly to investigate the thermal characteristics of waxy crude oil under periodic external temperature and to explore the extent of its impact. Additional specific heat capacity and momentum source terms methods are employed to simulate the changing physical properties of waxy crude oil related to the paraffin crystallization. The temperature field, velocity field and the evolution of gelling structure are analyzed. At the same time, the heat dissipation and the cooling rate of top wall and sidewall are studied. Our outcomes reveal that the effect of periodic external temperature is significant in the process of cooling. The heat dissipation and cooling rate at the top wall and sidewall show similar fluctuations to the external temperature. The closer to the top wall and sidewall, the more affected by the periodic external temperature.
