Description
Nanotechnology has become a prominent technology in environmental remediation, especially in the purification of water and wastewater. Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have the characteristics of extremely large specific surface area
easy synthesis route
unique magnetic property
good biocompatibility
reliable mechanical, chemical, and thermal properties
environmental friendliness
and the ability to be easily integrated with existing treatment technologies. These excellent properties have made MNPs an important participant in environmental cleanup and of the subject of research activities, so that their wide application has attracted lots of attention in the research field. Furthermore, due to their magnetic properties, they can be easily regenerated and reused for so many times. It is an important characteristic of environmental remediation agents to maintain their integrity. This chapter therefore focuses on the environmental applications of MNP-based hybrid materials.
