Description

In recent years, gas leaks have become a major problem in households that use household gas, so we have developed the proposed gas leak detection and monitoring system. An LPG leak-detecting system prevents risks like gas cylinder explosions. Given the widespread usage and demand for LPG, this device aids in routine LPG monitoring and alerts users to potential dangers brought on by LPG leaks. In this study, we used Google Firebase to create an IoT -integrated gas leak detection system. This product is designed to make it impossible for gas leaks to occur indoors in structures like homes or buildings. It is packed in a small rectangular box. NodeMCU ESP8266 is adopted as the main controller, and MQ-5 is adopted as the gas sensor. Since this product is equipped with IoT (Internet of Things), a remote notification is sent via a smartphone app when a gas leak is detected. Test findings showed that a 1 cm distance between the sensor and its controller produced a reaction time of 0.80 seconds and a push notice to the application in 1.60 seconds.
