Description

Application examples of the differential flow cell-based corrosion monitoring technique under both laboratory and field applications in cooling water systems are described. The cooling water system application examples include the following: (1) corrosion inhibitor program selection and optimization in a nuclear power plant once-through service water system
(2) corrosion and scale inhibition treatment optimization at a chemical processing plant
(3) microbiologically influenced corrosion detection and control by oxidizing biocides and nonoxidizing biocides in a pilot cooling water system
(4) petroleum refinery hydrocarbon leak detection and control
(5) refinery leak control and corrosion and scale inhibitor treatment optimization in a cooling water system using treated reclaimed municipal wastewater as make-up water
and (6) admiralty brass corrosion control in a conventional power plant cooling water system using brackish water as make-up water.
